A quiet little watchdog for a not-so-quiet dog β€” it listens to the home camera and keeps track of when, how much, and (increasingly) why the dog barks.

The tabs

🐾 RecentThe last few hours at a glance β€” bark spurts, how long, and what set them off. Made for a quick phone check. πŸ“… HistoryAny past day on a zoomable timeline, with per-minute activity and when the monitor was actually recording. πŸ”΄ LiveThe live camera with ~10 min of instant rewind, a β€œbarking now” meter, and a running log. Restricted to the household.

How it works

Audio from the camera is run through Google’s YAMNet sound classifier, which recognises barks β€” plus yips, howls, growls, and whimpers β€” and scores each one for volume and confidence. Every event is timestamped and saved, so the Recent and History views are built from a real record, not guesswork.

It also listens for the doorbell chime in that same audio and marks it on the timeline (πŸ””), so a barking spell can be tied back to someone at the door. Doorbell detection is still under development β€” occasional false positives are expected, and can be toggled off on each tab.

Who can see what

Everything runs on a Mac at home; the camera feed never leaves the house except to whoever opens this site.
